The Cost '2006'

Richie Kotzen  - “The Cost”

Published on Sep 27, 2013 - RichieKotzenOfficial
I wrote this song and made this video back in 2006 with my daughter when she was 9 years old... just found this one on the old computer and felt compelled to post.
Thinking this is a good direction musically for my next solo cd LOL!!!!
We were going to call our band 'Remember The Was'.
I'm pretty sure we have this tune up on itunes as well! Sudden Madness.. - Richie Kotzen

Richie Kotzen Shared Classic Rare Video "The Cost"
Richie Kotzen Shared Classic Rare Video “The Cost”
Still busy promoting The Winery Dogs‘ debut album, guitar maestro, Richie Kotzen uses his spare time to share several interesting stuffs, including a classic music video for his special song titled “The Cost” which also includes vocal from his daughter, August Kotzen. According to Richie’s explanation, the track along with its MV was made back in 2006 and the archive was recently found on the guitarist’s computer.
Compelled not to keep hold of the unique track, he shared it via his official YouTube Channel and received positive response from music fans on the net. Continuing his story, Richie also stated that back in that time, he and August was planning to name their collaboration as “Remember The Was” which somehow correlate well with that 2006 track he shared.
“The Cost” itself has a sort of comedy theme on it as Richie and August basically goofing around about some sort of a new place to live with relatively cheap price of $89. That track also tells about how those two were promoting that cheap living area, but somehow suffered an issue at the end of video where there’s only one resident living there and that doesn’t actually cover their expenses.
Kotzen dressed up in a character similar as Willy Wonka and using his funny accent, which many music fans, who acknowledged his work, might already knew. August (who was still only 9-year-old) back then also made full appearance along with showcasing his talented voice, that can already be heard from that young age. Style was, “The Cost” is a funky-pop kind of music, with a bit of additional elements that still grasp that inner Kotzen kind of stuffs. Guitar heads can also enjoy his interesting solo piece on the 2006 song, which isn’t much, but still fun to hear.
Enjoy the 2006 track from Kotzen and August titled “The Cost”:

'The Last Season' - publisher's synopsis

THE LAST SEASON TELLS THE INSPIRING, POIGNANT TRUE STORY OF THE LIFE AND MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE OF JAMES RANDALL MORGENSON WHO, over the course of 28 summers spent in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, became arguably the most celebrated ranger in the National Park Service's most adventurous unit. For the solitary, introspective Morgenson, the job was a calling, and he became fiercely devoted to protecting the wilderness he loved from the backcountry visitors, and those visitors from the wilderness. But the intense isolation and a series of personal setbacks took their toll, and when Morgenson vanished without a trace, many suspected suicide or foul play.
The story of Randy Morgenson as told in Eric Blehm’s The Last Season is an intriguing adventure narrative, complex psychological portrait, and compelling mystery. Was Morgenson murdered by one of the two disgruntled park visitors (a climber and a cowboy) who Morgenson had felt threatened by just the summer before his disappearance? Did the guilt he suffered after being unfaithful to his wife and his growing despair with the state of the Park Service drive him to take his own life? Had he simply met with some unfortunate accident and been unable to call for help because of the parks’ substandard radio system—a problem he had complained about numerous times in the past and documented in his yearly reports? Or could Morgenson’s isolation and increasing despondency have prompted him to walk out of the wilderness and begin a new life? He had, after all, hinted about doing just that.
